She got her PhD at Instituto de Radioastronomía y Astrofísica (IRyA), Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Her main research projects are related to evolutionary study and characterization of protoplanetary discs around low mass stars in Orion stellar formation region, using observational data in the optical and infrared together with theoretical models of irradiated discs.

Currently, she works on a spectroscopic study in the sigma Ori cluster, with the purpose to study external photoevaporation of the disc due to UV radiation of the massive stars, in its center.
