Dr. Elizabeth Artur de la Villarmois is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Astrophysics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago). Her main research topic is the formation of stars and planets, from an observational and astrochemical point of view. She uses observations from large radio telescopes, such as ALMA in Chile, and analyzes molecular lines to study the chemistry in protoplanetary disks.
Elizabeth received her B.Sc. in Astronomy at the National Observatory of Cordoba, Argentina, then obtained her M.Sc. at the National Observatory of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and later her Ph.D. at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. In 2020 she arrived in Chile and since then she is a FONDECYT postdoctoral researcher.
